Plantation at Barsojai HS
The tree plantation program was successfully completed at Barsojai High School located at Vidya Mandir Path, Bhetapara, Guwahati, Kamrup (Metro) Assam 781028. During the event a total of 103 tree saplings were planted within the premises of the school campus. The plantation program was supported by the Guwahati Social Forestry Division, Basistha, Guwahati, Assam 781029, India.
The campus of the Barsojai High School was selected for the plantation program because majority of the area of large campus of the school was neither under any plantation nor it had any infrastructure. The soil of the area is also fertile and provided the perfect location for plantation. Also exposing the students to tree plantation program at young age will spread awareness among the youth about its environmental benefits and helps in creating a sense of responsibility towards the environment among them. In the long run it will help in creating a society that is concerned towards the wellbeing of the environment.
